Question
What effect if any does Pesach have on the shloshim. My mother passed away on April 6 and I have heard conflicting opinions from different Rabbis about whether I can cut my hair . Some said it is ok to cut during chol hamoed but must go back to not cutting or shaving after. Others said Pesach abrogates shloshim and still others say it has no effect at all.
Answer
Pesach cancels the Shloshim. Because it is a parent: If people comment on the state of your hair you can have a hair cut. This is only if the
Shloshim terminate during Pesach. After Pesach you continue Avelut of the year.
