Shehecheyanu on Engagement Ring
Question
Does a Kallah recite a Bracha of Shehecheyanu on an engagement ring?
Answer
Although it is not the general custom, it is permissable to do so. In general many Poskim decide that recitation of the Bracha of Shehecheyanu derives from the degree of joy that the new utensils generate. (See Mishne Halachot by Rabbi Menashe Klein (Vol. 11;178)
