Question
We are going away for Pesach and we wanted to leave the cat home. A (Jewish) friend would come every couple days to change the food and water - is that a problem if we are “selling” the apartment for Pesach?

Yes you may have your neighbor come in and change the food and water (See aruch Hashulchan 448,23)
