Question
Hello,
I have a set of very expensive bone china that was only used for meat. However, the last time I used it, I ran it through my dishwasher with only meat stuff. The dish washer was used for both milk and meat however not together and at different times .
I have not used the china since last Pesach.
Is it useable?
This was a wedding gift from my parents and one of the last gifts my father a"h gave me. So its extremely important that if there is a way I can use it, I can do that.
For reference the set cost $3,000 in 2006 and finances are a concern for me.
Answer
The fact that you ran the china through a dishwasher which was also used for milky dishes is no problem, for you used soap at the time which deems the milk unedible (even if most don't use the same dishwasher for both meat and milk dishes, if it was done that way, it's still fine). I understand that the dishes are Kosher for Passover, so it's no problem (if they are not Kosher for Passover, that's a more difficult issue).
