I don’t know if the Betty Crocker(Teflon coated) was used for meat or dairy a few yrs ago. How can I kasher it to use it-and what will its status be?

ב"ה Shalom Since you are not sure what it was used for, using it for meat or dairy now would possibly make the utensil not kosher. And as I stated in my previous answer, since Teflon utensils are usually used with little or no oil the utensil requires "libun". Libun is the process of bringing the utensil to the highest temperature by direct contact with fire. Many Rabbis feared that a person would not do so in fear of ruining the Teflon coating, and therefore do not allow the koshering of teflon (ספר הגעלת כלים יג:203, פסקי תשובות סי' תנא: לה , הערה 188) Many Rabbis hold that with Teflon even if used with out a lot of oil, Teflon cannot be made kosher because the Teflon doesn't completely flush out all what is absorbed in it. הגרי“ש אלישיב סידור פסח כהלכתו פ“ח הע‘ 53:)) On the other hand, according to Rav Moshe Feinstein zt"l , שו"ת אגרות משה אבן העזר חלק ד סימן ז)) Teflon when used with liquid can be made Kosher by "Hagalah" – by placing the utensil in boiling water. So we see this issue is in dispute among great torah scholars. My suggestion therefore , would be to use your Betty Crocker for pareve items to stay clear of doubt. All the best שנה טובה
