Question
Is it possible to use the milchig dishwasher for pareve dishes? and if so, what is the way to do it?
I found the answers concerning milchig-flesichig dishes only. Is there any any concern of nat-bar-nat? Thank you and shavua tov.
Answer
Shalom David,
Having pareve and milchig dishes together in the same dishwasher is like cooking them together and the pareve becomes milchig, which defeats your purpose. As you are probably aware, many poskim (like Rav Ya'akov Ariel) allow to use the same dishwasher separately even for meat and milk dishes on condition that:
1. You use different racks
2. You use a different filter
3. You thoroughly clean and do an "empty running" of the dishwasher with soap each time in between the two.
Accordingly, if you want to rely on this legitimate opinion, it is even "easier" (that much more lenient) when talking about parave staying pareve, so you could go through those 3 steps between milchig and pareve.
