Question
I was told that the Moshiach is here but is waiting to show himself. Is this true? If so, why am I not reading about this all over the religious sites?
Answer
ב"ה Shalom, I don't see a need for websites. The coming of the Mashiach is one of the 13 principles of faith according to the Rambam and it appears in most Siddurim. (Although there is a discussion in the Gemara in Eruvin 43a, If someone takes upon himself to be a Nazir on the day Mashiach comes , if he on that day begins to be a Nazir.) But to make things simple, Rav Moshe Sofer zt"l, the famous Chatam Sofer, already wrote about 200 years ago, that the Mashiach is ready to come at any time, but the person meant to be Mashiach does not know of his mission until Hashem informs him that the time has come to fulfill his mission. This is like Moshe Rabenu, who until the age of 80 when Hashem revealed himself to him, he was unaware of what Hashem had in store for him. May we see the fulfillment of the Geula Shleima shortly in our days. All the best
