Question
Hi, I have a few questions.
1. Where in Tanach can we find Pasukim telling us that it is a Mitzvah to live in Eretz Yisrael?
2. Is it a Mitzvah to serve in the IDF? If so, how do we know this?
Answer
1. Devarim 11:31 "and you shall conquer [the land] and live there"
The Ramban [comments on Sefer Hamitzvot Mitzvat Asse 4] counts this Pasuk [and other similar ones] as the explicit source for the commandment to live in Israel and fight for its land.
