Question
My granny told me, my mother’s mother said her mother’s mother, her grandmother was a Jew, but my mom says we not Jews? I also took a test but it only says 1% JewishWhat do I do? It makes sense at least to me, they look Jewish and the name Anna Wolf sounds Jewish. But I don’t have documents and they don’t care to find out it’s almost just like a fact. “She never followed any traditions. I think it was because her mother was Jewish but her father was French so you could say it was in name only.” but I don’t know what the Jewish view on these things. I also have siblings. Answer
The Jewish law is clear, that if your mother's mother's mother's.... were Jewish, than you are 100% as Jewish as I am. Genetic tests are irrelevant here, for if the "right person" was Jewish, all the rest is irrelevant. If what you say is true, I don't know where you live, but do suggest you contact your local Jewish community and reconnect to your people and identity asap! Welcome Back!
