An Overview of the Torah Portion
Parasha Summary - Nitzavim
Our short sedra begins as Moshe gathers the entire Jewish People one final time before he dies. He reaffirms the eternal covenant we have with Hashem, but reminds Am Yisrael that Hashem does not automatically forgive our sins; we must repent & reach out to Him in order to achieve atonement.
Moshe optimistically tells the nation that, ultimately, all Jews shall return to the Land and the promise of Moshiach will be fulfilled. Torah & Mitzvot, Moshe reminds us, are imminently accessible to all who truly desire them; therefore choose Life.
