Women in the World to Come

Rabbi Ari Shvat

Question

I have a question, what is the promised heaven for women? I know guys study Torah with God, but since women don’t study Torah, what is their heaven ?

Answer

The Talmud teaches that the tzadikim (men & women) sit together in the world to come and "enjoy the pleasure of the Shchina" (=Godly presence). Sometimes this is likened to learning Torah but it's more intensive, the pleasure of being with the ultimate and eternal pleasure. Today, when women also study Torah on a high level, they can also get some kind of taste of this spiritual pleasure already in this world, just as when we pray properly with fervor & concentration, which is also a taste of that eternal spiritual pleasure.
