Question
I want to be a professional basketball player. I feel I have the potential, but my height limits me and that frustrates me. I need a miracle to grow, and I know God can perform that miracle.
Sometimes I wonder if God really wants this for me… or if He wont perform the miracle of growth because thats not His plan.
That doubt torments me, but I still have faith. I just want to understand if this is the path He has for me or not, and if it isnt, Im willing to let it go because I dont want to go down a path that God doesnt follow with me.
How can I know if this desire comes from God or is mine alone? What signs should I look for to discern His will?

Let's first focus on you and then we will deal with your relationship with G-d.
If you're really good and talented in basketball, and that's what you really want to do with yourself, you really have to work on it and realize your potential.
Once you follow things through and become really good, this will help you compensate for your not being not tall , if you haven't spurted up yet. I am no expert on basketball but from what I've heard there are currently NBA basketball players who are only 6 feet tall and there have been those who are under 6 feet.
Now in regard to prayer. It is always good to pray but it is improper to pray for miracles which change the course of nature. You can pray for things that follow the course of nature. Therefore, you can pray G-d help you grow to your natural healthy maximum and you can pray that other natural circumstances work out for you.
In my own personal experience, I have seen by certain people who were unable to achieve certain things in one way due medical problems, but G-d helped then in another way beyond imagination and they reached their ultimate goal.
So have faith in G-d to bring you to where he sees fit for you.
All the best
