Question
My son wishes to say Kaddish for an uncle who passed away last week as there is no one in his family who will say it. Is he permitted and what are the laws?
Answer
Your son may say Kaddish for the uncle.
Saying Kaddish is forbidden only when both parents are alive, and they're against the son saying Kaddish, otherwise there is no problem at all.
