Question
Hi Rabbi,
I recently started Nishmat and forget to say one night and woke in the middle of the night realizing it at 3am! I then said Nishmat. Does it still count for that day or would it be considered for the following day, in which I would have to start all over?
Thank you for your wisdom
Answer
ב"ה
Shalom,
As I have written to an earlier similar question, the segula of saying "Nishmat", I found only in the Ben Ish Chai
תולדות שנה ב, סעיף ג, שו"ת מכתם לדוד אורח חיים סימן יג)
that saying Nishmat is helpful, if a person is in a time of trouble and makes a neder=vow, after Hashem grants the person the salvation, the person should say Nishmat.
If you took upon yourself to say it at night, 3 am , is considered night time. In any case, the saying of Nishmat , the person who takes it upon himself should say that he takes it upon himself, "bli Neder", without a Neder, without a vow.
