17 Tammuz
Question
I have read that 17 Tammuz commemorates the breach of the walls in Jerusalem before the destruction of the Second Temple.
However, 17 Tammuz occurred on July 4, 1776. US Independence Day.
I view this as a Prophecy.
Do you think that a US Style Democracy/Constitution would breach the walls that separate the Israelis from the Palestinians, thereby making it possible to have One United State?
Which will then lead to the building of the Third Temple?
Do you think that maybe the Great Sages predicted all this well in advance?
17 Tammuz = July 4, 1776.

To shortly answer your question my answer will be a simple, no. With all due respect to the US Democracy and Constitution, I see no connection between the things you proposed.
However, it is interesting to point out that July 4, 1776 happened to be on the 17th of Tammuz. According to the Jewish Virtual Library there were about 2000 Jews in the US, it would be interesting to know how they felt that historical day.
It should be further pointed out, that in the book of Kings II, 25:3-4 the prophet says that the walls were breached on the 9th of Tammuz. It is according to the oral tradition that we commemorate the breaching of the walls on the 17th and other calamities which befell the Jewish people on that day.
What is also interesting is that the Declaration of Independence was written on the 1st of July 1776, then approved on the 4th by the congress but only signed a month later.
Happy 4th of July.
