Question
does the use of tightly attached string/wire/elastic every 3 tefachim up to 10 tfachim ("levood") not solve the halachic problems raised by the use of cloth walls"?

Rabbi Kaganoff in the answer to which you related in your question , only addressed the problem presented by canvas walls, he did not relate to the solution of the use of tightly attached string/wire/elastic every 3 tefachim up to 10 tfachim, which as you correctly said through the principle of "Lavood" can constitute a kosher sukka wall. You may see contemporary Halachic books which approve of this method. (See Mikra'ei kodesh on Sukkot of Rav Moshe Harari pg. 152,Pninnei Halacha of Rav Eliezer Melamed on Sukkot pg. 44 note 11, Ki Ba Moed of Rav Binyamin Chuta on Sukkot pg. 42= all in Hebrew)
