Question
I have always had a love for Jewish people. My question centres around the Jewish opinion of who Jesus was. He preached love, forgiveness, fed the many, died labeled as king of the Jews. When we pray to the Father we always pray in Jesus name. How is this perceived in Jewish society. I have anointed my home after my husband passed. All the entrances and Jesus has carried me many a day when life became unbearable.. I pray to God the father and end with in the name of Jesus. I am confused as to why the Bible which comes from ancient texts differs with the Jewish belief.
Answer
It's great that you love the Jewish people, especially when recent anti-Semitism is rampant, and we hear on the news many simple people who don't make the effort to check out the facts & differentiate which side is evil and which side is good (ironically they accuse us (!) of genocide for simply trying to free our 130 innocent hostages kidnapped from their beds on Oct. 7th, the day of the Hamas' brutal cold-blooded murder of 1,200 and mass rape of our civilian women!).
In general, we Jews prefer not to deal with questions of other religions, and as opposed to Islam and the classic Christianity who tried to forcibly convert Jews to their repective religions, we Jews are very tolerant and not interested in the least in convincing others to leave their religion and join our's. I may just point out a technical correction, that Jesus was not labled by the Jews of his time as "king of the Jews". Also, I may suggest that you clarify to yourself whether you believe that Jesus was the Creator or "created". I know that their are various streams of Christianity, and those who actually see Jesus as God Himself/Creator do contradict the Jewish Bible, which is pure monotheism.
