Question
I work for a large corporation which has matching contribution policy. It donates equal amount of money which I donate to eligible institutions.
1. If I buy aliya for letโs say $1000 donation, can I donate 500 and companyโs contribution would cover the other 500?
2. Can I use matching contribution to cover my sonโs yeshiva education? Iโve heard of some people who do it and I am not sure if itโs โkosherโ.
Answer
1. If you pledge money, that pledge must be fulfilled with your money, and not matching from the corporation.
2. It depends on the company's policy. Some companies probably would approve of such a donation, but it cannot be assumed.
