Late Tithes
Question
What the interest penalty is for late tithes? What is the compounding nature of the interest? I was between two different places of worship when I had set out the tithe, however, I did not submit it to my house of worship. Now, I attend a great synagogue and am wondering what to do.
Answer
There is no interest penalty for late tithes despite the prohibition to delay the tithing.
The tithes can be given to any charitable cause and not only to your synagogue.
