Ask the Rabbi
Question
Dear Rabbi Blass, In response to a question you gave this as part of your answer
"As you mention in your question, the Talmud, most notably in the uncensored editions of Masechet Sanhedrin,....."
I am a bit confused as to what you mean by "uncensored". Is there a censored version? And if so, why? The way I understand it, is that when something is censored it is done to hide something. What would Chazal want to keep from us?
Answer
The Church- not the rabbis- censored the Talmud.
