א. ולא בעיר של זהב. רבב"ח אריו"ח, ירושלים דדהבא כדעבד לה רבי עקיבא לדביתהו.
א. שני אלה הכחות העומדים תמיד זה נגד זה בכל ענין, המיעוט וההפרזה, שרק בהשפעתם יבא דרך הממוצע הטוב הבנוי מתמצית העילוי שיש בשני הדרכים יחד, הנם צריכים לבא בראש רגשי קודש של קדושת יום המנוחה המרחיב את הנפש, מעדנה ומפנקה.

ג. ע"כ, דוקא בעצם קדושת יום הש"ק עצת ד' הופיעה על חכמי קודש, לא מצד עצם הניגוד אל ההידור והיופי הטוב מצד עצמו, כ"א מסבה צדדית, תולדת השחצנות שפוגעת ממילא בגבול הקדושה, שמא שלפא ומחוייה, לבצר את כח תשוקת ההתהדרות העלולה להכות שורש עמוק יותר מדאי, דוקא ע"י כח הקדושה העידון והמנוחה של יום הקדוש.
ד. ההידור הזה כשהוא פוגע בהתרבותו, והנטיה אל מראה עינים, המשעת את הלב מכל מה שהוא אמת וטוב, פנימי ונצחי, הוא מוצא מקום אפילו במה שהוא בתחילה מיוסד בתכלית הטוב, בתכלית היושר והאורה, וכשהוא מעוֵת את דרכו הוא פוגע במרכז החיים והקדושה בכשלון יותר גדול, בהוציאו אל החולין והגרעון של חיצוניות וקטנות מה שהוא נשגב וקדוש עד מאד. מה נאמנה ונעימה היא התעוררות הנפשית של ההידור הישראלי לראש הבנות היקרות בעיר של זהב, עיר עז לנו (ישעיה כו, א) ירושלים דדהבא, אומה טובה וקדושה היא מורשת אִמוֹת טובות, ו"תורת אמך" זו כנסת ישראל (ברכות לה ע"ב).
ה. ע"כ, ההשגה הסוביקטיבית המילדת את ההרגשה הטובה והקדושה היא צריכה להכנת קדושת האֵם, שכל עומק הרגשתה בנקודה היותר ראשית של נטיית נפשה, ההוד והפאר המיוחדים לה, מלמד שקלעה הקב"ה לחוה והביאה לאדם (בכרות סא ע"א), שמה צריכה ההרגשה הקדושה הכללית של מרכז האומה בכללותה בהדרה וקדושתה למצא מקום.
ו. והחומר היותר נאֶה לקבל צורה נאותה, היא ההרגשה העדינה והקדושה שהיא להיות בסיס להנשמה האלהית הנשאבת ממרומי השכל העליון מקור תורת אל, זאת העיר של זהב הנתונה בראש הבנות היקרות בנות ציון הקשור[ות בקשר אמיץ] וקיים בכל רגשי לב טהור בעמם וארצם. ומרכז חיי האומה וכבודה הוא הדרן ויפין.
ז. אמנם התכנית הזאת, צריכה להיות שומה לא מחפץ טבעי שפל, באין אור ושכל, באין קדושה ותפארת פנימית הנובעת ממקורה של תורה, כי רק כשהעז של ההרגשה הטהורה היא תולדה מאור הקדושה השכלית של דעת אלהים אמת, שממנה באה ההרגשה של אהבת הכנסיה וכל פרטי כחותיה, ושיהי' מרכז החיים שלה מקור האושר, הנצח וההוד, אז היא הרגשת אמת וצדק שיש לה יסוד קיים לעד.
ח. ירושלים דדהבא, כדעביד ר"ע סופר האותיות שבתורה (מנחות כט ע"ב), שכולהו סתימתאה אליבי' (סנהדרין פו ע"א), שיצתה נשמתו באחד (ברכות סא ע"ב), ודברים שלא נתגלו למשה נתגלו לר"ע וחביריו (במדב"ר יט, ו), מאור קדוש ועליון כזה, מקור יסוד האורה השכלית, נכונה היא ההרגשה המבוססת על ההשכלה האמיתית של תורת אמת הנעוצה בעומק הנשמה הישראלית, להיות עולה ומפרחת, ומ"מ בהיותה יורדת בתחום הרגש המשתתף עם התכונה של הנטיה אל הברק החיצוני צריכה לכח מצמצם, הנותן לה גבול, השומר בכבוד את ערכה ואומר לה עד פה תבא (עפ"י איוב לח, יא), שמתגלה ממילא בהכרח התמעטות הקישוטים אפילו היותר נעוצים ביסוד התכונה לחבת הכלל והקדושה, למען הכניע את ההדר החיצוני, להראות ע"י התמעטות זה הצביון במעט את יקרת היופי הפנימי של המנוחה והקדושה של הדרת החיים שהם מקודשים בנועם ויופי עליון, של הקדושה העליונה, "טוב להודות לד' ולזמר לשמך עליון, להגיד בבוקר חסדך ואמונתך בלילות" (תהילים צב, ב-ג), "מה גדלו מעשיך ד' מאד עמקו מחשבותיך. איש בער לא ידע וכסיל לא יבין את זאת" (שם, ו-ז), "שקר החן והבל היופי אשה יראת ד' היא תתהלל" (משלי לא, ל).
