We find several places in the Torah where the right hand is considered the more prestigious one. For example, Yakov insists on placing his right hand on the head of Ephraim while blessing him; the Mezuza is placed on the right side of the doorway (as we enter); we cover our eyes with our right hand; we hold a Kiddush cup & arba minim in our right hand, etc. (Tefilin, which goes on the left arm is an exception, one reason being that the left is closer to the heart). But Chazal rule that a "lefty" may use his or her left hand for virtually all Mitzva-related actions, including holding the Kos shel Bracha at the Seder. However, both right & left-handers should lean on their left sides when eating at the seder (except when eating maror). This is to avoid the danger of food getting into the wind pipe/trachea rather than the food pipe/esophagus. (The food pipe is on the right side & by leaning on the right side, the valve above the food pipe could close, causing the food to go into the wind pipe instead).
