Question
kavod harav, is it permissible according to halacha to watch videos where a woman is speaking and i see the woman is speaking because she shows things on the board, such as lectures or informational content, assuming the content is modest and educational?
Answer
Shalom, Thank you for your question. It is true that halacha requires of us to be very careful with what we look at, and looking at inappropriate things is forbidden, even through a video screen (and perhaps even more when looking at video etc, because one is often alone, and the natural embarrassment a person has in public is not there to guide us). None the less, a person should be able to see modestly dressed women, and listen to them when they are talking and lecturing. This is a basic level of societal interaction that our Rabbis felt one should be able to partake in without it leading to sexual thoughts. So, the answer to your question is yes, it is permissible. Blessings.
