Question
Hello Rabbi,
When praying to G-d and asking Him for things, which name should I use?
Additionally, does it count as saying His name in vain if I address Him by a term such as “The Alm1ghty” to ask for something that goes against the Torah? I am referring to this part of a Chabad article: “How many names are there? The Kabbalists discuss many hundreds of names. Names used in the vernacular count as well. In fact, many halachic authorities apply the prohibition, "Do not take G-ds name in vain," to apply to any name that is used to refer to G-d.” www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/817362/jewish/How-Many-Names-Does-Gd-have.htm "

Answer
Thank you for your question,
1. You may use any name that you want. Mentioning G-d's name while praying is not considered to be mentioning his name in vain.
2. You shouldn't ask for something which goes against the Torah--even if you don't mention
G-d's name.
All the best!
