Aside from the period around Rosh Hashana when we have our Challah with honey, is it a Halacha or a regular Minhag to have the Challah with salt? Is it OK to have Challah with honey all year? (or even just without the salt) This is not a health or allergy issue, I just don’t like it.
The salt is mentioned in the Shulchan Aruch (OC 176:5), mostly by the Rm"a. The opinion of the Mechaber is that nowadays it is unnecessary to add salt to our bread. If it is really a big problem, perhaps one may dip the bread in sugar, according to the Minchat Chinuch 119. Rabbi Avraham Perl
