Question
does living in Israel prevent the one who lives there from ever having bad or strange dreams? -is there anything else that judaism says prevents bad dreams Besides saying the bedtime Shema?
Answer
Shalom, Thank you for your question. I am unaware of the holiness of the Land of Israel protecting one from bad or strange dreams. Though the merit of the land may certainly raise up to levels of holiness. There is much about dreams in the writings of the Rabbis. Let me just quote one famous saying from the Talmud – a dream follows its’ interpretation. Therefore, before you decide that you have bad dreams, perhaps you should look for the good in them. Blessings.
