Are there any opinions as to where or whereabout the location of Har Sinai is? I understand that we aren’t supposed to know the exact location but do we know which area in Midbar Sinai?

Although there is speculation, there is no clear location. Many feel that we are not supposed to know, just as we do not know the place of Moshe's grave, so that we will not make these places shrines, as they have no intrinsic holiness. The holiness of Mt. Sinai moved to the tabernacle and then to Yerushalayim.
