ב. ע"כ מעשה הוה בשבת, יום הנועד לרוממות וקדושת שֵֹכל טוב. ודוקא אז יוכל הנזק להיות גדול ע"י ההסתמרות הדמיונית באופן מוגשם וקבוע. ורבה מאד התועלת בהתרחקה ויבא תחתיה אור חכמת אמת ותורת חיים המופיעה לישראל ביום מנוחה, ויום שבת קודש.
ג. ועת וזמן לכל חפץ (עפ"י קהלת ג, א), ממגיד מראשית אחרית (ישעיה מו, י) וקורא הדורות מראש (שם מא, ד), להגביל את הפעולות כולן מגדולן ועד קטנן, ע"פ הערכים הרוחניים הפנימיים המכוונים אליהן, שהם נפעלים מהן בכל אופן, ביחוד ע"פ הסגולה האלהית העליונה אשר לנשמתה הגדולה של כנסת ישראל, שזרמי החיים הרוחניים מתגלים בקרבה מכל מגע וכל עסק מעשי כפי הראוי לו, שע"כ הם מצויינים במצות, ו"חדשים גם ישנים דודי צפנתי לך" (שיר השירים ז, יד), וכולם נשמרים באהבה מכל יודע ומכיר את דרך הרוח האלהי המפיח בקרבם.
2. תלמוד בבלי מסכת ביצה דף טז ע"א- דאמר רשב"ל: נשמה יתירה נותן הקב"ה באדם ערב שבת, ולמוצאי שבת נוטלין אותה הימנו, שנאמר שבת וינפש, כיון ששבת ווי אבדה נפש.
3. תלמוד בבלי מסכת שבת דף קיח ע"א- אמר רבי יוחנן משום רבי יוסי: כל המענג את השבת נותנין לו נחלה בלי מצרים, שנא' "אז תתענג על ה' והרכבתיך על במתי ארץ והאכלתיך נחלת יעקב אביך כי פי ה' דיבר" (ישע' נח, יד)
4. תלמוד בבלי מסכת עירובין דף כא ע"ב- 'חדשים גם ישנים דודי צפנתי לך', אמרה כנסת ישראל לפני הקדוש ברוך הוא: רבונו של עולם, הרבה גזירות גזרתי על עצמי יותר ממה שגזרת עלי - וקיימתים. אמר ליה רב חסדא לההוא מדרבנן דהוה קא מסדר אגדתא קמיה: מי שמיע לך חדשים גם ישנים מהו? אמר ליה: אלו מצות קלות ואלו מצות חמורות. אמר ליה: וכי תורה פעמים פעמים ניתנה? אלא: הללו מדברי תורה, והללו מדברי סופרים. דרש רבא: מאי דכתיב "ויותר מהמה בני הזהר עשות ספרים הרבה וגו' ". בני! הזהר בדברי סופרים יותר מדברי תורה. שדברי תורה יש בהן עשה ולא תעשה, ודברי סופרים - כל העובר על דברי סופרים חייב מיתה. שמא תאמר אם יש בהן ממש מפני מה לא נכתבו - אמר קרא עשות ספרים הרבה אין קץ.

As we approach America's 250th birthday, it's worth remembering her 200th Bicentennial birthday, on Jul. 4th 1976, when Israel "stole the show" by shocking the world & miraculously saving 101 hostages in a foreign continent. As Pres. As Pres. Trump decides which countries get priority in his new Middle-East, it's worth reminding him of the difference between historic events and eternally historic ones. This obviously connects with this week's parsha, as well!
