Cremation - pet
Question
Dear Sir,
Does the prohibition to cremation count for pets, too?
Many thanks in advance!
Kind regards.
Answer
ב"ה
Shalom
The prohibition of cremation applies only to the body of a person, to whom we must behave in great dignity . The discarding of the body of an animal doesn’t require all the special laws of the burial of a person. However, the cremation of an animal should not be made into a ritual.
