Question
Where in the TANAKH, not the Talmud, or Kabballah, does Hashem absolutely FORBID Cremation of the body after death. Thank you very kindly for your generous time & effort.
Answer
In the Torah we have a Mitzva of burying the dead, and not leaving a body unburied throughout the night. The reason for these commands is the prohibition of disgracing the body of a deceased person. Hence it is forbidden to ruin a body or benefit from it.
