Shavua Tov, I am a baal teshuva. My mother has Ashkenazi ancestry with a clear matrillinial line to orthodox jews in eastern europe. My dad is from Latin america. Family customs and last sames suggest a high probability that he is of sephardic ancestry. Is this halachiclly significant? I currently for the most part follow Ashkenazi customs. Is their any halachic reason to switch?
