Question
Shalom! The five Books of our Torah are holy. Can we say that they are more holy or more important than the Na"ch (the Books of the Prophets and the Writings)? How can we prove that? Does the Gemara deal with it? Is there any Halacha about that? Thank you in advance! Kol Tuv!
Answer
ב"ה Shalom The Gemara addresses this question specifically in Megilla 27a, where it says that a Chumash may be placed on Nevi'im and Ketuvim. This Gemara is brought down in the Shulchan Aruch Yoreh De'ah 282:19 with more details adding for example that the Nevi'im and Ketuvim may not be placed on Chumashim, and that Ketuvim may be placed on Nevi'im. In other scattered sources, you can find reference to printed sefarim which are also to be related to with reverence, not just handwritten sefarim on parchment. I have also compiled in English some other Halachot in regard to our reverence to Sifrei kodesh, should you have further questions on the matter. All the Best and Happy chanuka
