Question
My father in chutz l’Aretz reported that in his synagogue, while waiting for the rabbi to conclude his silent amidah, the chazan waited before continuing with the chazarat haShatz, and was criticized for waiting by one of the congregants. Who was right?
Answer
It depends by the shul custom.
Most synagoues do wait for the rabbi to finish his silent Amida.
