Tzitzit on flags
Question
I read that if one sleeps on a blanket, he doesn’t need to put tzitzit on it as he’s not wearing it. what about an israeli flag that is ’worn’ by wrapping it around oneself on a couple of days a year? it is wearing, but it is not really a beged? some people cut off the corners of israeli flags that they ’wear’ to avoid this problem. what is the right course of action?
Answer
A flag is not called a Beged and does not need Tzitzit.
