Question
Does a woman who has to breastfeed on Ta’anit Ester need to fast?
Answer
Ta'anit Ester is only a minhag and therefore is regarded the least strict fast. The laws of this fast oblige only the healthy to fast.
A sick person may drink and if feeling really bad can also eat.
A pregnant or breastfeeding woman that finds even the least difficulty does not need to fast.
