Question
When the Menorah was cleaned in the Mishkan/Bet Hamikdash, first five branches were cleaned and then the other two later on.
Why were they not all cleaned together?Why this seperation?
Answer
Chazal learn this from Psukim as can be seen in Masechet Yoma 33:2, and in the Tosfot Yom Tov commentaries to the Mishna in Masechet Tamid 3:9.
