Yosef marries Osnat, Potifar’s daughter, and has 2 sons, Menashe and Efraim.
Yakov sends his sons to Egypt to buy food. The brothers don’t recognize Yosef and come before him and bow to him. Yosef plays the part of an Egyptian, acts harshly and accuses them of being spies. He sells them food but keeps Shimon hostage until they bring Binyamin to him. They return to Yaakov and retell everything. Yakov at first refuses to let Binyamin go to Egypt, but when the famine grows, he accedes.
Yosef welcomes the brothers lavishly as honored guests. When he sees Binyamin he rushes from the room and weeps. Yosef instructs his servants to put his goblet in Binyamin's sack. When the goblet is discovered, Yosef demands Binyamin become his slave. Yehuda offers himself, but Yosef refuses.
