Question
Am I permitted to place a rechargeable hearing aid on the recharger on Shabbat if a Shabbat Clock will turn the recharger on AFTER I place the hearing aid on the recharger and I remove the hearing aid from the recharger AFTER the Shabbat Clock goes off? On the Internet, I noticed that some Rabbonim allow it and others say no. What is the Machloket based on?
Answer
Shalom The question is whether one can close an electric circuit if no electricity is running through the circuit. One can be lenient if they have to charge the hearing aids during Shabbat or Yom Tov. Kol tuv
