Question
Hi, Im a Torah observant and i have some questions:
1. I have a Chumash Torah and when i read it i found some typo on the Hebrew part of the Torah, for example there is a typo in the word " יום " but it is printed as "ילם" instead. What should i do with the Chumash? Is it no problem or there is something else to do to honor the Torah.
2. I love to meditate, and i found out that the use of prayer beads like those other people use helps to concentrate better. Is it allowed to be used in our prayer method? And if so, is there any suggestions of what prayer is advised to be chant repeatedly and how should the prayer beads be like?
Answer
Regarding printed mistakes in a Chumash, you can fix it with a pen or pencil and it's no problem. We don't bring new traditions into our prayer, especially when it is brought in from other religions, so we have no such suggestions. If you want to use beads to concentrate when praying a private prayer outside of the regular services, it's no problem.
