Question
Dear Holy Rabbi Long time ago, I live in the Netherlands but I'm Born en raised till age 28 in Iraq, then I Immigrated to the Netherlands, no one knew that I'm Jewish, I didn't tell anyone, everyone thought that I'm Muslim, especially I had to Study Islamic Religion in the school. Here in the Netherlands I had an relationship with an Moroccoans women she was married, but she was with me and others too in the same time. One day she made me Swering that I never smoke again, then I swered, but I sweared in the name of Muslims God who he is not exist and they thought that I'm a Muslim like her. My question is can I smoke again, just Cubeaans Sigaretten? Because I was not Muslim and I hate them very much with their Fake God?
Answer
It's very good that you are careful about using God's Name properly. Swearing and oaths depend upon one's intentions, and you clearly didn't intend to take that oath (even though, technically the Moslems believe in the One God, as we do) so accordingly you can occasionally smoke those cigars. On the other hand, smoking is unhealthy, and one isn't allowed to harm one's health, so one must really minimize his smoking anyway for God gave us a Godly soul in a healthy body and it's our responsibility to take care of it, and live a long, Godly, beneficial, idealistic and moral life!
