what to picture when praying
Question
Hi Rabbi,
What is one supposed to picture when Davening since we may not picture Hashem and since he has no image?
Thanks,
Shea J
Answer
Shalom Josh,
When davening, one should concentrate on and picture the needs of Israel, and think of (and even better, to word) practical current examples, either personal, or even better, national needs or reasons to thank God, which apply to each blessing as you say it. For example: for the freedom of Jonathan Pollard, for peace in Israel, for the success of the Israeli government, success in learning Torah and decision-making, etc.
With Love of Israel, Chag Kasher v’Same’ach!
