Ask the Rabbi
Question
On my future travel to Jerusalem:
Thank you for answering my previous question about walking on the Temple Mount area. I will refrain as a Christian in respect for Jewish religious tradition. Could you tell me what is the highest step on the concrete stairs a Jewish person can go at the Cotton Markets Gate entrance? As a Christian, should I refrain in deference to Jewish religious law? Thanks for setting me straight, be safe in these times! Tony / USA
Answer
Shalom,
Thanks for writing to us again. One may walk up all the steps at the end of the Cotton Markets – being careful not to go into the doorframe at the top of the stars which opens onto the Temple Mount.
Wishing you the best of visits to Israel!
