Question
There are many detailed measurements in scripture (e.g. Ezekiel 40). Some are obviously instructions, and some I assume, are just to paint a picture for the reader. Are there any other reasons for them listing the measurements with such precision?
Answer
The classic commentator Radak (R. David Kimchi), wrote 800 years ago that the prophet Eliyahu (Elijah), when he returns in the future, will explain and clarify these extremely technical prophecies, perhaps in a symbolic or kabbalistic way.
