Melacha after candle lighting - for women
Question
Can I take a shower or prepare a meal in the half an hour after Channuka candle lighting?
Answer
If a woman sews, weaves, does the laundry or any thing that has Tircha, effort it is a Melacha and forbidden. If she's just boiling hot water for a tea or brushes her teeth it is permitted. A forbidden Melacha on Channuka is not like the forbidden Melachot on Shabbat.
