- Candle Lighting
Question
In lighting on our porch rail above the public square in Kfar Saba, When we light, the first candle is on our right but appears to the people below to be on the left. After lighting, should we rotate the glass box containing the Chanukia so it then appears correct to the public?
Answer
The order of lighting is an obligation of the lighter not of the people who see. You should light on the right, and it is forbidden to move the candles after lighting them.
