Question
Hi My aunt whom I was very close to just passed away. She hasa daughter and no sons. Could I say Kaddish for her if my latents are both alive? My parents are ok with me saying it. My aunts daughter does not want someone saying it who did not know my aunt. day it who not know her. I would say Kaddish when I was in shul and it would not be everyday due to my work travel.
Answer
Shalom, Thank you for your question. May you be comforted amongst the mourners of Zion. Yes, if you have permission from your parents (may they merit a long and healthy life) to say kaddish for your Aunt it is permitted – and a good thing. Blessings.
