Dear Rabbi I heard that participating in Lottery is not kosher as it is collecting other peoples money. Even though everyone is very well aware of the process. What do you think about this? How about Fundraising and Donation for personal use. Are they consider kosher activities? ty for your time.

Although Rav Ovadia Yosef prohibited Sefaradim from doing so, there are many authorities who allow it for Sefaradim as well (some even claim that R. Ovadia zt"l changed his mind), and accordingly, there's plenty of room for leniency allowing participation in lotteries. How much more so if it's done for fundraising and much of the proceeds go to charity, so the buyers willingly and sincerely "part with their money".
