Question
Hello Rabbi/Rav,
If somebody reaches their hands after they have eaten unkosher meat and haven’t washed them into a dairy bag of food, may I still eat from that bag?
Best,
Sophia
Answer
ב"ה
Shalom
Foods become non- kosher when they absorb something non-kosher in them, through cooking, or by being mixed with something not kosher. Therefore, unless the hands of the person who put hands into the bag were greasy and actually touched unwrapped food stuffs, for example, greasy hands into a bag of potato chips or the like, I see no problem.
In addition, if non-kosher meat came in contact with kosher food by cooking or other absorption as explained above, it makes no difference if the kosher food was meat or dairy.
