Ask the Rabbi
Question
where is ben ish hai burried?
Answer
Shalom,
Thank you for your question. As far as my research could reveal, the Ben Ish Chai is buried in Bagdad. However, there is a grave stone with his name on it on the Mount of Olives. On that gravestone there is inscribed that it was revealed that at some point the body of the Ben Ish Chai came miraculously to Jerusalem. Rav Shmuel Eliyahu shiltah writes that this is not a physical matter, but rather a spiritual moving of the soul to Jerusalem. The body and grave of remain in Bagdad.
Blessings.
