Ask the Rabbi
Question
Hi Rabbi,
Thanks for your response to my question. I have a brief follow up - what is a comfortable length for the tallit katan. Should it go last the waisted and fit like a t-shirt? Should it cover the whole stomach? Should the garment part be tucked in?
Thank you.
Answer
Shalom,
Thanks for writing back. The length of the tzitzit is measured in the same way as the width. So, according to what we wrote, the smallest measure would be 36cm by 36 cm in the front, and the same again in the back. You can use this small measure, or a bigger one – whatever feels more comfortable.
